Women in Public Finance is a professional networking organization for women in the public finance industry. We seek to advance women’s leadership opportunities by fostering relationships and providing educational activities and forums.

Founded in 1997, Women in Public Finance started out with a focus on the midwest region which has expanded over the years to draw interest from all over the United States. In 2010, Women in Public Finance amended its bylaws to recognize regional chapters and affiliates, encouraging professionals within a particular state to provide more frequent personal contact and facilitate regional activities that complement the nationally focused activities of WPF. The Chicago chapter was established in 2016. Participants in our organization include state and local government issuers, not-for-profit issuers, investment bankers, attorneys, financial advisors, rating agency analysts, bond insurers, and trust officers among others.

Connectors volunteer to make themselves available at their convenience to talk to "Collaborators" (i.e., newer professionals, students or others, essentially anyone interested in participating in the program) about their career experiences, occupations, workplaces, etc. Participants can take part as much or as little as they want, but the goal is to introduce new people to the profession of public finance and to let those interested learn about the many avenues that are open for them to consider as career choices.

We hope that we'll have many current members offer to serve as Connectors and we also ask that you share this information with newer members to your firm or organization, students, and any one else that you think may benefit from participating in this program.
